VoIP exchange or SIP exchange?
A VoIP telephone exchange uses IP protocol (Internet Protocol)
Voice over IP means that it will convert voice signals (audio) into digitized signals.
The telephone exchange will be connected to the company's local network (LAN) and will be assigned a fixed IP address.
The IP devices will be connected via a PoE switch (Power Over Ethernet) on the computer network (LAN).
With this technology, it is even possible to connect IP devices to remote sites
through a WAN (Wide Area Network).
A SIP telephone exchange is also a VoIP exchange
...but it also uses the SIP protocol (Session Internet Protocol).
SIP devices that are connected on the company's computer network can be used.
This SIP telephone exchange may also be connected to one or more SIP Telecom Providers (Operator offering very low prices).
